But I will say that I did hear on the news last night many residents commending Japanese authorities for their foresight in preparing for this disaster over decades. As one correspondent/long-time resident said, this wasn’t about “ill-preparedness”, it was just a testament to the power of this earthquake. Amazing. Every country needs that kind of ingenuity.
